Outstanding young partners support the Centenary Gala Dinner
The Himalayan Trust is incredibly grateful to the amazing young people who helped make our Centenary Gala Dinner such a huge success.
Eight students from the University of Waikato Conservatorium of Music performed live at the Gala Dinner and they were all outstanding.
Cellist and Hillary Scholar Isabella MacDonald said the fundraising event was a great opportunity to give back to the community.
“As part of the Hillary programme (at the University of Waikato), we learn how important it is to give back to the community. Sir Ed was a great example of that from the work he did in the Everest region and it was a real privilege to contribute to his work which is still continuing today.”
Congratulations to the following students who performed at the event:
Emmanuel, Laauli, Jordan and Faamanu Fuimaono (vocalists), Tayla Alexander (vocalist), Fergus Byett (piano and Hillary Scholar), Maia-Dean Martin (violin), Isabella MacDonald (cello and Hillary Scholar), Isabella MacDonald (cello).

We are also grateful to the fabulous volunteers from Hillary House at Macleans College who gave the gift of their time during school holidays to help make sure all the guests were primed to take part in the auctions. We couldn’t have managed without them!
We are very proud to be associated with all these incredible, talented and dependable young people.
