Summit Challenge 2020 Launch

with George and Alex Hillary

Summit Challenge Launch Hikes

Join us in Auckland on March 1 and Christchurch on March 3.

Join Sir Ed’s Hillary’s grandsons, George and Alex Hillary, and the Himalayan Trust team to launch your Summit Challenge!

The group hikes in Auckland (1 March) and Christchurch (3 March) will get your challenge off to a healthy start. Not quite Mt Everest, but it’s a great start!

There will be spot prizes on the day, thanks to our generous sponsor Kathmandu. To top it all off, all the funds you raise will be invested in quality education, vital healthcare and safe drinking water in the Everest region of Nepal.

Christchurch – 3 March at the Rapaki Track

We’ll meet at the top end of Rapaki Road at the sign for the Rapaki Track. There’ll be a warm welcome and short speech from John Loof, General Manager of the Himalayan Trust and George Hillary, Summit Challenge ambassador. Then, we’ll all hike together to Summit Road and back down again.

This is a free event but registration is required for health and safety reasons and group management. Please click “get tickets” above to register. Or register here https://bit.ly/3bnXu0B

Auckland – March 1, Mt Eden

Meet at the corner of Puhi Huia and Mt Eden Roads, on the grass next to the historic tram shelter.

We’ll have a warm welcome and short speech from John Loof, General Manager of the Himalayan Trust and George Hillary before hiking together to the summit of Mount Eden seven times, finishing around noon. If you arrive late, head up to the summit and you can catch us there on our next lap.

This is a free event, but registration is required for health and safety reasons and group management. Please click “get tickets” above to register or click here https://bit.ly/3bnXu0B
